Last Thursday I visited the SU Art Gallery to see the Heisler exhibit. I never heard of Heisler before and I was surprised I have never seen any of these images before until now. I found his portraits of famous actors interesting because he portrayed them in a light that one often doesn’t see. For example, his portrait of Liam Neeson gave me a new point of view to a character I see in films. As I learned through the exhibit Heisler is able to represent humans in a different way than what our world usually sees. Many of the portraits were intimate and you can really see that he can build a relationship with the subjects he wants to photograph.
