The Shoowtime logo is an example of a design that illustrates two of the Gestalt principles. It first uses closure in the ‘SHO’ portion of the design. Even though the letters are not closed all of the way, the viewer’s eye automatically closes each shape and sees the letters that they represent. It also uses figure/ground. In the ‘SHO’ portion the red part can either be seen as the background that doubles as a spotlight or the outlining that draws out the letters.
