World Wildlife Fund Logo

This is the World Wildlife Fund, or WWF, logo. The Gestalt principles this logo uses are closure and figure/ground. The closure is apparent because one’s eye must close the gaps between the black fur on the panda. The figure/ground principle is used to represent the panda’s white fur. The actual figure is black, while the ground is white. Yet, some of the ground is part of the logo itself.
This logo is an accurate representation of the WWF. The WWF is the world’s leading conservation organization, so it is appropriate to have an endangered animal as its logo. The curves in the logo make the panda look vulnerable rather than harmful, which brings out one’s desire to help. The panda is recognizable even without the WWF printed under it. Also, it is a friendly-looking logo, which helps encourage donations and such.
